about

"Music For Spacemen" was the opener and as well the closing track of the 1981 album "Voyager" by VELVET UNIVERSE. I wrote these song in early december 1980 as the "Voyager Theme". It features Thomas Kapke on guitar and Seppl Niemeyer on drums. I played the HOHNER String Melody for the background, a MiniMOOG for the solo part and the MFB Drumcomputer for the electrpnic rhythm.

The sequence was programmed on an ARP Analog Sequencer and played on an ARP Axxe with an ELECTRO HARMONIX Octave Multiplexer. I also used a MAESTRO Echoplex Echobox and Eberhard Pannes Ping-Pong-Echo of his Tonstudio Panne, where ths song war recorded March 1981.

The great Eberhard Panne was the sound engineer and I made this single-version-mix of the "Voyager Theme" in early 1983 by using his outstanding sound machines including the EVENTIDE 910 Harmonizer.

Buy the original vinyl album together with this track any you'll get the whole vintage "Voyager" package.
